Film Premiere 30th June 2023

Throughout the lockdown period, GRACE worked on several remotely delivered projects, including creative writing, filmmaking, scriptwriting, animation, and more.

As we got back into the community unity, we continued delivering scriptwriting and filming workshops, with some ideas even hatched during zoom workshop sessions. We conducted online story schemes, fostering creativity, and shaping ambitions.

One of the remarkable stories that emerged during this time was shared by Sarah, one of our GRACE members. It was an inspiring and challenging experience, making it a perfect storyline for a short film. Thus, the biopic film “Space, Age, Chair” was born.

We are thrilled to announce that our ambition to bring this film to life was successfully fulfilled, thanks to the collective efforts of many individuals and the guidance of our facilitators. The making of this ambitious project truly showcased the greatness that can be achieved when the GRACE community comes together.

In addition to the film, our comedy shorts have been a shining example of high-end expression of ideas. They cleverly satirise the ridiculousness of everyday life, reminiscent of the best comedy sketch series seen on television today. The energy and dedication of our talented actors have made these shorts truly captivating.

Moreover, during lockdown, we worked on a series of radio plays called “Spooky Hall.” These plays not only create an atmospheric storytelling experience but also feature captivating stories that immerse the audience in a world of imagination. We are incredibly proud of the work done by our community during these challenging times and look forward to more exciting projects in the future.

After three years of dedicated hard work, GRACE had amassed a large collection of film material and radio plays. The natural next step was to share their incredible achievements with the wider community, family, and friends.

On the 30th of June 2023, GRACE hosted a spectacular and elegant red carpet premiere event at Hillhead Community Centre, Kirkintilloch, to celebrate their accomplishments.

The event was a grand success, with over 100 people attending to experience a VIP treatment.

Attendees enjoyed ice cream, hotdogs, and popcorn, all while watching the films on a big screen. It was a heartwarming opportunity for the casts, camera crews, technicians, screenwriters, creative directors, and everyone else involved to share their hard work with their loved ones and the broader community.

The premiere event was a joyous occasion where everyone dressed in their finest premiere outfits and celebrated together. The response was overwhelmingly positive, leaving everyone feeling fortunate and appreciated.

As the excitement settles, GRACE looks forward to future events and endeavours. Watch this space for more fantastic productions and celebrations!

Thank you for being part of the journey!

With warm regards,

GRACE  Team
