Christmas Party and Festive Fun

Christmas time for many members can be a struggle. 

 
 
 
The GRACE Involvement Group Meeting organised by members every six weeks discussed ways to provide support over the festive period. The management support team and our CEO got to work with the support of the members and volunteers to make christmas a time for everyone to support one another and have some fun along the way.
 
The Auchinairn Community Centre Christmas party was attended by approx 50 members enjoying entertainment from Generation Events refreshments from Small Talk Cafe (Hillhead Community Centre Kirkintilloch) and a special visit with gift for everyone from Santa (GRACE Board of Trustees). Raffle tickets sold on the day to raise funds for GRACE included hampers donated by GRACE Pins and needles group facilitator and a staff family member. Tombola raffle tickets and a very large unicorn tickets sold on the day to also raise essential funds for GRACE. 
 

 

Table Tennis Tea & Talk (TTTT) group organised a Tournament to celebrate the weekly training and skill sharing within the group and to enjoy some friendly competition. Trophies for the winners on the day to celebrate. Everyone who takes part in the weekly groups at both of our venues had the opportunity to be involved at the event. 

 
Hillhead Community Centre Christmas party was in partnership with We Are With You  who meet at the same venue every week. Again we welcomed engagement from Generation Events with the addition of the Gringe mascot. Refreshments from Small Talk Cafe (Hillhead Community centre cafe). Rotary Club Kirkintilloch made a generous donation of selection boxes and raffle prizes along with items for our Help Yourself Hub
 
Tombola tickets, raffle tickets and the large unicorn tickets all sold to rise essential funds for GRACE. Lots of pictures taken at the event show the fun and laughter enjoyed on the day.
 

 

The week finished with out first face to face GRACE Quiz with Martin from All in Fitness the instructor for our Boxercise and Fitness  classes on weekly at both Hillhead and Auchinairn community centres. Martin provided 50 weekly quizzes via zoom during lockdown for our members followed by two Christmas specials on zoom. This year’s face to face quiz was full of challenges for our quiz master as usual the competition got to much for some with half points and team answers being challenged at the final count the team with the most points was congratulated. Well done to Martin for keeping the quiz fun and exciting once again.
