Lights, camera, action! The EDCTV 3 digital media project has officially wrapped after eight fantastic weeks of creativity and collaboration. Our participants jumped into a “learning by doing” adventure, starting with brainstorming sessions where they explored everything from social issues to satirical comedy. The project was all about bringing people together and giving our community a voice through the magic of filmmaking, and the results were truly spectacular.
Everyone involved got hands-on experience both behind and in front of the camera, rotating through roles like director, sound technician, and on-screen presenter. From scripting clever sketches to filming on location at Kirkintilloch High Street, the crew mastered professional tools to bring their visions to life. The team produced brilliant, broadcast-ready pieces, including a satirical news segment about a 25p pension rise, a hilarious regional weather forecast, and a heartwarming documentary about the growth of the GRACE Table Tennis group.
The excitement reached its peak at the project’s grand finale, where GRACE HQ was absolutely packed for the big premiere. It was a day filled with laughter and cheers as the community gathered to watch the final edit on the big screen. The room was buzzing with pride as everyone saw the culmination of their hard work, celebrating the unique perspectives and local stories that make our community so special.
Beyond the technical skills, the project was a massive win for friendship and team spirit. Participants shared that they “loved every minute,” finding the experience to be a fun and supportive way to meet new people and try something new. There was a real sense of achievement as everyone worked together as a team.
