BetterBriggs Community Event

GRACE received an invitation to join BetterBriggs and local community organisations on Saturday 4th Feb at Bishopbriggs Community Church. An opportunity for Gillian our Pathway Worker and Yvette our Peer Support Worker to meet local groups within the local community. 

GRACE Support is available at Auchinairn Community Centre Bishopbriggs Monday till Friday 10am till 2pm and Tuesday 4.45-5.45pm. Details of What’s On is available on our calendar. We also offer support at Hillhead Community Centre Kirkintilloch Monday till Friday 10am till 2pm and Saturday 11am till 12noon. 

The Glasga Roasters provided refreshments with snack donations from ASDA Community champion. 

Was lovely to be able to speak to so many organisations at one event. 

East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action (EDVA) is our local Third Sector Interface which provides support, help, expertise and assistance to third sector organisations and community groups in East Dunbartonshire.  Lorraine and Pauline attended the event to offer support to the local community groups and raise awareness of volunteering oppertunities. GRACE works closely with EDVA as well as renting meeting and office space at Townhead Kirkintilloch. 

The Thomas Muir Heritage Trail maps and information was shared with copies being passed to the GRACE One Step At A Time walking group to explore. 

G64 Cycles highlighted the oppertunity to have a bike service and seek advice on electric bikes and much more. 

Walk Run Cycle East Dunbartonshire group attended to raise awareness of their Facebook page and new name WRCED. 

G64 Community Support shared information about the project. More information can be found on their Facebook page. 

Marie Curie Hospice Bishopbriggs was available to raise awareness of the local hospice. 

Was a lovely day meeting with community volunteers and groups within East Dunbartonshire and opperational within Auchinairn and Bishopbriggs thank you to BetterBriggs for organising the event. 

Kirkintilloch Herald printed an article about the event too great to have such Community support.
