We are thrilled to announce that GRACE will be receiving a food donation from TESCO Kirkintilloch every Monday and Wednesday.
We are part of a project to alleviate food waste through the FareShare Food Cloud
FoodCloud have developed a mobile phone application (the App) with the aim of combating food waste and food poverty by matching food businesses that have registered with FoodCloud (the Donor) that have surplus food, which it no longer deems fit for sale, but which is within its expiry date(the Products) with nearby Clients that require that food;
- FareShare will supply food to the agreed, registered delivery address.
- 2.. Food will be “allocated” by FareShare to the Community Food Member on the basis of:
- The availability of food
- The needs and preferences of the Community Food Member, as agreed at the time of allocation (see clause 10)
- The need to distribute the service evenly between other Community Food Members that FareShare supplies.3.. FareShare will contact Community Food Members when stock is available and “allocate” the stock. The Community Food Member will then have the opportunity to request the required type and quantity of food. Every effort will be made to satisfy the food requests of the Community Food Member. No project will receive unsolicited food. FareShare offers no guarantee regarding the type or amount of food that will be offered.
4 An authorised person from the Community Food Member must sign to confirm that stock has been received in full or in part (noting any shortages) and that recorded delivery van temperature is correct. This signature will be required on the FareShare Delivery Note and will act as proof of acceptance of the food by the Community Food Member. One copy must be retained by the Community Food Member and the other is to be retained by FareShare. A Community Food Member collecting stock will be issued with a delivery note at the point of collection and this document, when signed, will act as proof of acceptance of the food by the Community Food Member.
